One of my mantras right now is “just one step”…in other words if I just focus right now on that one step I can stay in the present and still have my big picture plan ‘out there’. I readily admit, this is a challenge for me as I often am thinking 3 or 4 steps ahead…it’s the way I’m wired and while it’s a strength, it can also become a weakness if I’m not careful (and often I’m not too careful!).
One of my favorite ways to ground myself back in the present is to use what I call the Right Here Right Now technique…(also one of my all time FAV songs!); it’s also a great self esteem booster because it’s all true!
