Ok, I have to admit I kinda went off the deep end yesterday when I was talking with someone about an upcoming speaking engagement I have coming up in November. I am, of course, excited about the opportunity and expressed as much to my friend. Now, mind you I am very fond of this person, but she made the comment…”Wow, sounds like you are really stepping into your brilliance.”
I’m sorry, but stepping into your brilliance sounds so….sedate and kinda boring actually. It’s a great phrase, but as so often happens, it has become overused and abused. Quite frankly, I don’t want to step into my brilliance…I want to take a BIG FLYING LEAP into it! Stepping into my brilliance sounds like I’m opening a door and walking into the next room. I’d rather do a Kramer (remember Seinfeld) and shimmy, shake and get into my brilliance in my own unique way! (as you should too!).
The very word BRILLIANCE suggests sparkle, luminosity, excellence, inspiration, radiance, glory….big, immense words that don’t mesh with “stepping”. When I think of YOUR brilliance I think of joyfully leaping, happily bounding, and exuberantly blazing into your unique and amazing brilliance!
I encourage YOU, don’t open the door and step into your brilliance;….bust the door down and radiate your brilliance!!
How have you stepped into YOUR brilliance lately? Are you taking timid steps or giant leaps and bounds!?
