I love words. I mean I really, really love words. I love them visually (reading), auditorily (listening, speaking) and kinesthetically (writing).
I savor words, marinate in words, stew over them, words are just…delicious. Words can be crisply fresh…or limp and stale. Words can stir the pot or warm our souls. They invoke in us the deepest of emotions and the most powerful of feelings.

They can also be maddeningly elusive, contrary, come upon you in rushing waves or be as precious as a drop of rain.
Not only do I love words, but I have a deep respect for their power. Growing up I witnessed (and felt) words cutting to the quick, puncturing the spirit, words that caused gaping emotional wounds and deep pain. And sought escape into the world of words in books and writing.
I’ve also been blessed to witness the healing power of words. Words that nourish the soul, feed the psyche, and bring satisfying comfort. Words that keep the pantry in your soul kitchen well stocked and replenished. We all have words that we take a shine to and I’m no exception.
