In my most humble opinion, one of the greatest joys of being a teacher is that you are also always a student. As you travel on your journey through life, hopefully you learn that your experiences also become your learning opportunities.
I’ve recently had some “learning opportunities” regarding the Law of Attraction. I am always interested in and striving for self-improvement, and LOA was one of those areas that I connected with and made a great deal of sense to me. To that end, I have read many books, studied LOA experts, and have generally tried to apply those principles to my life. It’s not as easy as you think it should be. Think positive thoughts and good things happen, right? Well it doesn’t exactly work that way and I find that many people don’t really know HOW to apply the LOA.
I have had some difficulties with a friendship lately and one of the things that I have learned the hard way is that no matter how positive you may be, the other person may not be there with you. Here’s what I mean: you have probably had instances where you have been involved in a she said/she said situation (I’m talking about girlfriends here, not a committed relationship; hence the “she said/she said” reference).
In the course of trying to work through this “mess” (for lack of a better word) I noticed that the friend kept saying things like “by your actions you’re making me look angry and mean” and as I kept desperately trying to be positive, I realized that it doesn’t matter what my outlook is, if I keep surrounding myself with negativity and self-doubt, including MY OWN THOUGHTS; that is EXACTLY what I’m going to get back. No my friend, the responsibility of looking angry and mean is all YOURS. Because I CHOOSE not to reply or act in kind, then somehow the entire situation has become my fault.
Think about your situations and how often you “blame” someone or the external influences around you for the choices that you make and the actions that you choose. It’s easy to blame others…”she made me angry”, “my sponsor didn’t help me”, “it’s not my fault I’m not making any money”…and the list could go on and on. There is a very fine line in not giving up and deciding when is the time to walk away because there is no positive energy left in a given situation.
The Law Of Attraction is an extremely powerful tool, but you must learn HOW it use it and how to apply it’s principles to your life. Yes, there are many, many things in life that you cannot control, but what you can control is how you let it affect you and your thinking. Now that’s not to say that your feelings whatever they are, are not legitimate and real, it’s about the “letting go” of those emotions and figuring out what the positives are in the situation you are facing. Remember that by letting go that it doesn’t mean you are letting go of your focus.
Continue to be a lifelong learner as you continue your journey through life and continue to pursue the life that you desire and deserve!
To a positive and healthy mindset!
